Lippie Round-Up

I love a new lipstick more than the average 30-something working mom with more important things to shop for. But there's something about a new lip product that can change your face, brighten your mood, and enhance an already good day at work.

#1 winner

Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss, $16, I love pastel pink for spring and undressed for the perfect beige lip. Note this looks thicker when first applied, but blend and give it a moment to set. Its shiny but not barbie like, and thinner than some other long wear glosses making it my #1 pick of the season.

Runner Up 1

beauty counter lip sheer
Beauty Counter's lip sheer for $30- my favorite is 'rose', this line is all about safe ingredients. My friend Sarah can help anyone make a purchase form her online site, here

Runner Up 2

Dior Addict lipstick, $36, is color and moisture, and you cant go wrong with any color

Good pick

YSL, $37,  is one of my top 5 favorites of all time, and I love nude beige for an every day neutral

Splurge worthy

Tom Ford sheer lip color, $52, love all shades! Ultra luxury item for the price

Have you picked up any new spring makeup products you're suddenly addicted to?

Thoughts on a Friday

1. The dining room (pictured above) in the new house is my happy place. I could look at it all day. And the lightning fixture is possibly my favorite part of the entire house. Weird?

2. When Tucker laughs, it quite literally lifts my heart so that its floating above me, no matter what else is going on.

3. Trying to have another baby and not being able to carry one past the early stages is hard, and when people who don't know me well ask why we only have one, or how could we not want more children it actually rips a small tear in my soul. If you know someone with one child or no child, do not ask them why. Perhaps they don't want any. Perhaps they have been trying for 5 years. You just don't know. Offer love, and don't judge.

4. Spring clothes are more fun to buy than winter clothes. And I love winter. This is just a fact.

5. Seriously considering cutting my hair super short again (think Yolanda Hadid on the RHOBH Reunion).

6. When you get angry in the car because someone cut you off, at the grocery store because another shopper is pushing you in line, or at your hubby for leaving his shoes in the doorway and almost killing you when you fall right over them, just sigh, and smile thinking of  a YouTube video of a baby mouse nibbling a cucumber. Or a martini.

Cocktail Time

As my college roommate Hayley can attest, I have been a fan of a very unusual drink for many, many years. When my peers were enjoying keg beer or Malibu with pineapple juice (OMG the memories), I was ordering Campari and soda. My dad used to serve this to my mom on Saturday afternoons, so I was exposed to the cocktail at a young age. Though bright red in color, giving the impression of sweetness, the flavor is a crisp,  yet surprisingly tart. If you're looking for a new drink to try this summer, one that tastes as good when made at home as it does when made by the handsome bartender at happy hour, I suggest you try this simple, low calorie treat.

1 part Campari
2 parts club soda (I like to use lemon lime flavor)
1 slice orange or lemon (or both)
ice

Fill a glass with ice, pour in about an once and half of Campari, top with club soda, squeeze the orange or lemon slice, stir and enjoy!

New Picks with Loft

Sometimes shopping for office clothes can be uninspiring. Every now and then, I want something for lust and not utility. Loft is always a go-to for me, and this spring is no exception. I love a peasant vibe, a bohemian spirit, and a skinny jean as much as an iced latte or an oak-y chardonnay.

online exclusive, looks better in person, give it a try!

The 'After'

Finished product! Home sweet home in Connecticut. We make the move in June, so there's some time to pack and plan, but the next 10 weeks will go by quickly. The paint throughout the house and in the finished basement is Sherman Williams 'Lazy Gray', Tucker's room is Sherman Williams 'Naval Blue' and the master is Sherman Williams 'Morning Fog'. Kitchen floor is actual slate toned porcelain tile, I cant say enough about how great it is and easy to care for. The living room rug and striped rug in Tuckers room are from Wayfair. Next up: Furniture! .
