Booties
One of the best parts of fall is the ability to wear suede booties, printed dresses, and no tights. Loft is a great go-to for affordable, of the moment prints that can carry you through several seasons, and many wears. This piece is from Fall 2014, and is still a favorite of mine. Sole Society is one of my first online stops when I want a pair of new shoes, booties, or wedges. These are also a favorite from a past season that have worn well and still look fresh.

Put a Blazer On It
I really cannot get enough of a good blazer. I've had a harder time picking work outfits this month, perhaps its unseasonable lingering chill here in NY, perhaps its being 32 and feeling in between life stages. But whatever the occasion, I throw on a blazer and instantly feel better and more pulled together. Its no secret that J.Crew is my go to for all wardrobe needs, and their collection of blazer is probably my favorite part. Though usually pricey, I can't get enough. The 'Regent' is the season's newest addition, with its own stand collar and lighter linen blend.Ill be scouring the sale section on my upcoming day off, hopefully my little guy who is off from school wont mind!

Client Meeting: March Edition

A client meeting in NYC is always a good excuse for my favorite work tote, but it can be tricky when it comes to shoes and outerwear. This particular Wednesday, its about 50 in NYC which means I'd sweat in anything heavier than the J.Crew Regent blazer (Im a sweater, and I walk insanely fast). My trusty umbrella is tucked inside my bag, as are a pair of flats just in case.

Denim for Work
My small, New York based firm merged with a large, California firm in October. Since then, its been a wonderful opportunity for me as a young lawyer to expand my horizons, and work with different people from different backgrounds. With this huge transition came the best one of all- a business casual dress code. And that's casual with a capital 'C', since our west coast partners have ushered in the long missed denim in the office. With these new outfit options came the necessary denim edit. Since having my son in 2011 and returning to work as an attorney, I never had any reason to really analyse my jean stock. Now, with a slightly different body than pre-baby, and less funds for $250 Seven and J Brand jeans, I've managed to make more budget friendly, and comfort orientated choices that still fit the 'business' element of the dress code. J.Crew is my go-to for work wear, and finding their classic denim cuts on sale has been the best way to stock my closet.
